The UK version of Sprite will now have 30 percent less calories
It looks like Coca-Cola has finally taken the plunge with a naturally sweetened soda. After it was reported that PepsiCo and Coca-Cola were trying out all sorts of new formulas for a healthier diet soda, the UK branch of Coca-Cola has released its Stevia-sweetened Sprite.
The new Sprite will have 30 percent less calories, reports The Daily Mail; but what's more notable is that the new formula of Sprite will eventually replace the full-calorie Sprite. "We are introducing Sprite with Stevia in the UK. This will contain 30 percent fewer calories and, instead of being added as a mid-calorie addition to the Sprite range, it will completely replace the current Sprite," read a statement from the UK Coca-Cola. (Sprite Zero, the Sprite with zero calories, will still be available.)
No one's sure whether Coca-Cola will introduce the Stevia-sweetened drink over in the U.S., but the company (and PepsiCo) has been experimenting with new formulas in sodas in select U.S. markets since the summer.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie (Grain-Free, Sugar-Free)
The chocolate chip skillet cookie of your dreams has arrived. It’s gooey. It’s chocolatey. It’s nutty, sweet, and slightly salty.
When you dunk your spoon into this giant chocolate chip cookie, you break through a golden, crisp layer. Then you dive into the gooey, soft, warm center that’s oozing with melted chocolate. Each bite is such a delight, you’ll probably just end up eating the entire cookie with your spoon (not that this has ever happened to me…)
Unlike a traditional cookie skillet (or “Pizookie”), this treat is made with nutrient-dense ingredients that’ll make your taste buds and your body happy.
Nut butter: I love the flavor of peanut butter, so for this recipe, I use organic natural peanut butter. However, if you’re strict Paleo (no legumes), you can use any nut butter. Cashew or almond butter would be delicious.
Sweetener: To make this sugar-free, we use a combination of Lakanto monk fruit sweetener and Lakanto monk fruit syrup. And if you’re not worried about the skillet cookie being 100% sugar-free, I highly recommend using pure maple syrup instead of the monk fruit syrup because it gives the cookie a beautiful caramelization!
Flour: This recipe has barely any flour in it. We only use a few tablespoons of arrowroot (or tapioca) starch for a little fluff and crisp.
Chocolate: We use a dark chocolate here, for best flavor and maximum health benefits. My absolute favorite brand of chocolate is Equal Exchange, so I use their bittersweet chocolate chips. For a completely sugar-free option, use Lily’s stevia-sweetened chips.

The holiday season is not quite around the corner, but the Coca-Cola Company is already thinking ahead.
The brand will be rolling out new flavors of two of its famous beverages this fall. Coming soon, soda lovers can look out for Coca-Cola Cinnamon and Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry.
Coca-Cola Cinnamon has been previously offered in the U.K, according to Food and Wine, but this is the first time the spice-filled flavor is coming to the U.S. The Sprite flavor is brand new to the market, coined “limited edition,” and will begin to sell on September 30 through December 31, or while supplies last, a Cola-Cola spokesperson said.
News of the holiday flavors came after the Instagram account CandyHunting posted photos of the new beverages earlier this week.
While there is not much information on the Winter Spiced Cranberry, the original Sprite Cranberry sales doubled from 2013 to 2017, reports Coca-Cola, so a new addition to the Cranberry line could prove to be popular.

St. Patrick’s Day Green Chocolate Chip Cookies
Growing up, I went to a Catholic school called St. Patrick’s. Every year we would have a huge celebration. Basically a free day at school. I didn’t have all of my dietary restrictions then and could eat basically anything. But now even though I can’t eat that stuff anymore, I wouldn’t even want to with all the processed sugar and things. These green chocolate chip cookies would make a great alternative.
Yes I said green. When you mix sunflower seed butter and baking soda together a chemical reaction happens that turns it green! The dark green hue makes them a great St. Paddy’s Day treat! Same with my shamrock shake recipe!
This recipe is originally from Against All Grain but I adjusted it for my needs and to make it candida diet friendly. Mine has a lot less natural sugar!
The original recipe uses dates. I subbed dated for yacon syrup, but you can probably use coconut nectar, honey or maple syrup(not candida diet friendly) instead.
Recipe calls for unsweetened apple sauce. When you’re on the candida diet, you’re only allowed green apples. I used unsweetened green apple applesauce. The snack container is 3.9 oz, just below the called for 1/2 cup but that’s fine!
Grain Free Vegan Chocolate Cake
- 3/4 cup coconut oil, melted and cooled
- 1 cup of sugar substitute. I love BochaSweet
- 4 flax eggs ( 4 tbsps ground flax seed, 3/4 cup water)
- 1 cup of non dairy milk
- 1/2 tbsp ground vanilla
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 3 cups almond flour
- 3/4 cup raw cacao powder
- 1/4 cup coconut flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
Chocolate Ganache Frosting
- 1 can of full fat coconut milk or coconut cream
- 9 oz of stevia sweetened chocolate ( I use Lily’s Dark)
- First make the frosting by placing the chocolate in a heat safe bowl while bringing the coconut milk to a boil. Pour milk over chocolate. Let sit for a few minutes and then mix together the coconut milk and chocolate until smooth. Let cool for a bit before placing in the fridge or freezer.
- Preheat oven to 350º and line and grease 2 round 8″ pans with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix together coconut oil, sweetener and apple cider vinegar. Slowing stir in the milk and mix. Fold in the flax egg.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together almond flour, cacao, coconut flour, baking soda and salt. Add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix well.
- Pour batter into the prepared pans. Bake for about 25-30 minutes or until tester comes clean.
- Let the cake cool in pans for 15 minutes before transferring to the fridge to cool for an hour. Let the cakes become room temperature before frosting.
- Finish making your frosting by whipping the chocolate ganache with a mixer until fluffy and creamy
- Frost your cake!
*Please make sure your coconut oil is completely cooled before using. I have made the mistake of thinking it was cooled enough but as soon as I added the milk and mixed it, the coconut oil solidified.
